When the father of the Guerrasio family suddenly disappears, following a big celebration, his 15-year-old daughter Chiara launches her own investigation, searching for answers. Faced with the solution to the dark riddle, she is forced to decide what kind of future she wants for herself. A Chiara (Directors’ Fortnight 2021 – Europa Cinemas Label) is a thrilling drama about the loss of innocence, and the third part of Carpignano’s trilogy (Mediterranea – ZFF 2015; A Ciambra – ZFF 2017) about the disparate communities of the Italian port city of Gioia Tauro, burdened by poverty, racism and crime.
