Dear friends,

once again, it is an honour to greet you and introduce the new instalment of the collaboration between ZFF and Mediterranean Film Festival Split. I am very pleased that this partnership has become a tradition, as we come together to bring you the films that had their Croatian premieres in Split or at one of the summer cinemas with our programming. We are proud to say that MFFS has affirmed itself as one of the most popular cultural events on the Adriatic coast. Since 2012, MFFS is in charge of organizing Kino Mediteran.

Kino Mediteran is a cinema revitalization project around Dalmatia with the aim of bringing to life old film theatres and offer film programs in smaller communities across Dalmatia where cinemas have long been closed. The program focuses on independent films from Europe and the world, as well as programs for children and young people. This year, we present Night of the Kings, an intriguing drama inspired by the director’s childhood memories of La Maca prison, where he used to visit his mother, a political prisoner.
