The poetic story of impossible love between two lonely immigrants earned a standing ovation at the 2011 Venice Film Festival, taking home as many as three awards. Chinese woman Shun Li works as a waitress in the town of Chioggia in the Venetian Lagoon, while fisherman Bepi (Rade Šerbedžija), nicknamed the Immigrant Poet, is from former Yugoslavia. They find solace in each other, but their closeness begins to bother the locals and the Chinese community. Director Andrea Segre takes the viewer on a journey of love of two immigrants and the beautiful landscapes of foggy, dreamy Venice.
