Maeva and Louis (Jérémie Renier – Slalom, ZFF 2020) are crazy in love, maybe a little too crazy. When Louis finds Maeva’s lifeless body in their hotel room, he ends up at the police station. But he is not just anybody. Fiercely ambitious and sharp, Louis is the enfant terrible of Belgian politics. His refusal to give up his immunity stirs a huge media storm. Inspired by true events that divided the Belgian public, the film poses intriguing questions about the nature and source of our convictions. The character of Maeva is played by Alma Jodorowsky, granddaughter of legendary Alejandro Jodorowsky.
