Locarno Film Festival celebrated its 74th edition in 2021. This year the festival went through a reshuffle: Giona A. Nazzaro was appointed as new Artistic Director and two new committees – one for the features and one for the shorts – were formed. These changes led to a new selection approach and the creation of new sections. The titles in this programme summarise the selection work that has been done in order to find what we believe are the best, most surprising cinematic expressions of contemporary short filmmaking.
