The Father

A gripping thriller about rebellious anti-fascist youth and the boundaries we are willing to cross in the fight for what we believe. Guided by ideals, law student Luisa leaves her comfortable bourgeois existence for an anti-fascist commune in Berlin. There she finds herself torn between two factions, one advocating nonviolent resistance, and the other, led by the charismatic Alfa, who thinks equally radical measures are needed to fight the radical right. Can violence ever be a legitimate political answer to fascism and hatred? The film was screened at festivals in Venice and Toronto.
